Comecon vs EEC
Comecon vs EEC
Many reasons have already been explained for having two Groups in Europe and AntiNWO's grouping in the world. Comecon's course for four decades is one more important reason. Obviously many changes would be required in Comecon's continuation. It is a fact though that the countries that participated had economic cooperation for decades and were connected or integrated.
Communism was not a successful endeavor. If it was, it would have lasted till now. Although overall not successful, people in ex-communist countries want to believe that so many decades were not entirely wasted and this is probably true. There were some positives things done during communist period and also some positive points remain in post communist era. Comecon's continuation could be one of them.
The economic cooperation for many decades and the connection of integration of economies during communist period could result in a successful NON-COMMUNIST Comecon continuation. Communism would have to be replaced with a mixed economy system but the cooperation and connection or integration could remain with the new economic system of Comecon's continuation.
Comecon was referred as the EEC of Eastern Europe. It should have been the other way around. EEC should have been referred as the Comecon of Western Europe. Comecon was a larger and more robust (in terms of participation) organization that had existed for longer time. It was established a decade before EEC, in January 1949. The Treaty of Rome was signed in January 1957 but EEC started in January of 1958, nine years after Comecon.
Comecon had from the beginning all communist Eastern European countries as members. USSR was partly in Eastern Europe and partly in Asia. Mongolia, Cuba and Vietnam were added much later. On the contrary, in EEC there were four or five steps till the final composition. Four were without counting Greece which was a big anomaly. These steps are shown in Appendix 25.
We use current populations and current countries since it would be very difficult to find the populations of all countries at all those years. In Europe, populations do not change much. Current populations serve very well our purpose of presenting a general idea. If someone wants to be very precise, s/he can seek the populations of countries at all those years and use them.
In 1958, EEC had only six countries, the founding members, France, West Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg. Nevertheless, it had 52,3% of the final population in year 2004 which is shown below. In 1973, UK, Denmark, Ireland were added and population became 75,1% of final. We skip Greece's addition in 1981 because it was a big anomaly as it has been already explained.
Third step was in 1986, when the Iberian countries, Spain and Portugal, were accepted. The population became 89,6% of final. In 1990, there was Germany's unification. This was not really a step because no country was added to EEC. West Germany became Germany and included East Germany. That brought the percentage of population to 93,6% of final. In 1993, EEC became EU.
Fourth step was in 1995, with the participation of Sweden, Austria, Finland. Those additions brought the percentage to 99,9%. Malta's addition in 2004 completed the percentage to 100%. It was so small that we do not consider it a step. Nevertheless, someone can think of four big steps and one very small. The biggest step was in 1958 when more than half of the final population was added.
On the contrary, Comecon started with complete membership in 1949. All communist Eastern European countries were included from the start. For their own reasons, much later they added three countries that did not fit well in the Group. These were political and not economic reasons. We do not show the addition of Mongolia, Cuba, Vietnam in Appendix 25. Comecon's continuation should have the original membership of 1949, only Eastern European countries.
In 1990, East Germany left Comecon due to unification with West Germany. Not only Comecon started a decade before EEC but it was much larger than EEC, almost double. In Appendix 25, the ratios of the two populations are shown as percentages. In the years EEC had additions, these percentages were as follows;
1958 52,3% 1973 70,4% 1986 84,0% 1990 91,2% 1995 97,3% 2004 97,4%
They happen to be close to the percentages examined previously, (compared to EEC's final) because the final population of EEC in 2004 was roughly the same with the final population of Comecon in 1991. The final Comecon meeting was in Budapest, on June 28, 1991. They agreed to end the organization in three months (90 days). Sometime in 1990's, probably around the middle, a continuation of original Comecon should have been established.
At the bottom of Appendix 25, we show the Western European countries that were not members of EEC/EU and the Eastern European countries that were not members of Comecon. These were missing from Western and Eastern European Group, according to AntiNWO's plan. In Western Europe, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland did not become members in EEC/EU.
In Eastern European Group, Greece and Cyprus were missing, the only Eastern European countries that were not communist. There are many reasons that Greece should be together with the rest of Eastern European countries even if it was not a member of Comecon, since it was not a communist country. These were explained in Greece is Eastern Europe and Greek economic tragedy.
Technically, Cyprus is in Asia but goes together with Greece. It is possible that Cyprus will be annexed to Greece. Israel is also in Asia, specifically in Middle East. There are other Asian, ex-Soviet countries in Eastern European Group. Geographically, Israel should be included in Arab Group 5. That would be a very uncomfortable situation for both sides, Israelis and Arabs. AntiNWO added Israel in the closest non-Muslim Group which is Eastern European as the best option but there are other alternatives for Israel as well.
In 1995, 96,4% of Western European Group's population was already in EEC/EU. In 2004, it became 96,5% with the addition of Malta. In 1991, 97,4% or 95,1% of Eastern European Group's population was already in Comecon. The first percentage is if we include only Greece and Cyprus and the second if we also include Israel. Both Groups, WESTERN and EASTERN EUROPEAN, were almost READY in the 1990's.
Comecon should have continued as a NON-COMMUNIST GROUP with the original membership of 1949. Greece and Cyprus should be added later and perhaps Israel. In Western European Group, Switzerland, Norway and Iceland should be included later. UK was still a member in 1990's and Brexit may have not happened if things followed the right path.
Unfortunately, SOMETHING WENT REALLY WRONG in the 1990's. There was a wrong turn and the wrong path was taken. NWO's fanatics did not do what was normal, realistic and rational. They did all the crazy things and caused lots of problems. What was not done in the 1990's should be done now. The right path should be followed now. There are two alternatives to make corrections in Europe, two independent Eastern European Groups for an adequate time or CIS enlargement.
