Reasonings for Coalitions

Reasonings for Coalitions

In "Acceptable range", Coalitions and Subcoalitions presented in Table A of Appendix 31 were chosen randomly. There are different reasonings that can followed to form Subcoalitions and Coalitions. One is GEOGRAPHIC or SPATIAL PROXIMITY. The Groups have to be one next to the other. The three American Groups, will form the American Subcoalition A1-A2-A3. This is shown in line 9 of Table A - Appendix 31.

The two European Groups, E1 and E2 have 9,4% of the worlds population (l. 7). Another Group should be added, M3 or M1. M2 is next to E2 and has much longer border with it than M3 does. But M2 it is added to the Subcoalition, it will separate M1 from M3. Because of that, If the geographic proximity reasoning is followed, M2 can't be with E1-E2 (l. 15). It could be included in the same Suboalition, if a different reasoning is followed.

E2 has road connection with M3. Armenia which is in E2 has 44 kilometers (27 miles) borders with Iran which is in M3. There is no road connection between E1 and M1 but the distance between Spain and Morocco at the strait of Gibraltar is 7.7 nautical miles (14.2 kilometers or 8.9 miles). It can take as little as 35 minutes to cross the strait with ferry boat.

E1-E2-M3 is shown in line 1 of Table B - Appendix 31. The population percentage is 13,9%. For that to be acceptable, the range for Subcoalitions has to be ±1,5. If M1 is with E1-E2 (l. 2), total population percentage is 13,6%. It is only slightly above 13,5% and could be acceptable with the ±1 range in Subcoalitions. The two Muslim Groups that will not be together with E1- E2 must form a Subcoalition with one Subsaharan Group.

There will be 4 Groups in Subsaharan Africa, if there are 16 Groups total. Since we don't know the composition of the Groups yet, we will use the average size for all four Groups (Subsaharan population / 4). M1-M2-S3 is in line 4 and M3-M2-S3 in line 5. The three other Subsaharan Groups will form a Subcoalition S1-S2-S4 as shown in line 7. Subcoalitions in lines 4 and 5 are within the ±1 range but the one in line 7 is not.

The percentage 10,8% is close to 11% which is the lower limit with ±1,5 range for Subcoalitions. If this is not acceptable by decision makers, the range has to be ±2, from 10,5% to 14,5%. At this point we should explain that it is more important for Coalitions to be within a range. There could be more tolerance regarding Subcoalitions. So if S1-S2-S4 is in a Coalition that is in the range, there can be more tolerance for the Subcoalition not being in the range.

If there is geographic proximity in Coalitions as well, S1-S2-S4 will be in a Coalition with M1-M2-S3 or M3-M2-S3. The percentage for the Coalition would be 23% and 22,7% respectively. In the first case, it is right at the lower limit 23% with ±2 range for Coalitions. The second case can be acceptable if the range is ±2,5. The lower limit will be 25 - 2,5 = 22,5%.

American Subcoalition is separated with Atlantic Ocean from Europe and Africa. So it has to be with a Subcoalition that is an ocean apart. It can form a Coalition with the European+ or the Subsaharan Subcoalition. So A1-A2-A3 will form a Coalition with E1-E2-M1, E1-E2-M3 or S1-S2-S4. The other Coalition will be formed with the two remaining Subcoalitions. A1-A2-A3 can't be together with M1-M2-S3 because it separates E1-E2-M3 from S1-S2-S4 which will be the other Coalition.

Another option is to have spatial proximity in Subcoalitions but not in Coalitions. In other words, the Groups that make a Subcoalition will be one next to the other but the two Subcoalitions that make a Coalition will not. In that case, Subsaharan Coalition S1-S2-S4 can be with any one of the other three Subcoalitions. The percentages of the Coalition are; a) w/ A1-A2-A3 23,5% b) w/ E1-E2-M3 24,7% c) w/ E1-E2-M1 24,4%. They are all in the ±2 range for Coalitions.

There will be four Groups in the rest of Asia and Oceania. If the spatial proximity reasoning is followed, China will be with two of them and India with the other two. This is shown in lines 9 and 10 of Table B in Appendix 31. All cases shown are within the ±2 range for Coalitions. Again, the average size is used since we do not know the composition of the Groups R1-R4 yet.

There is a country that is a special case, Mongolia. It is between Russia and China and mainly Buddist. Because of its geographic location, it is the only country that can't be in one of the four Groups with the rest of Asia plus Oceania. It will have to be placed in Russia's Group E2 or Kazakhstan's M2. It will not change much any Group's population because Mongolia has only three and a half (3,5) million inhabitants.

But there is no need to have spatial proximity in Subcoalitions or Coalitions. This is only necessary in Groups. There will be close cooperation in the Groups and even closer in Subgroups and Regions. Relations in Subcoalitions and Coalitions will be much looser. Not having spatial proximity in Subcoalitions and Coalitions gives a lot more flexibility and other reasonings can be followed.

Many people in AntiNWO believe that it is better to have a MIX with GROUPS from different PARTS of the WORLD or different ECONOMIC LEVELS. There are four Coalitions. Subasaharan Africa will have four Groups, if there are 16+2 Groups. So there can be one Subsaharan Group (S1-S4) in each Coalition. The same can happen with the four Groups of the rest of Asia plus Oceania (R1-R4).

China and India are in Asia too. In their Coalition, there will be two more Groups. Suppose that these are not from Asia. In that case, the four Groups from the rest of Asia and Oceania will be in the other two Coalitions, two in each. There were three cases with India's Coalition and three with China's Coalition in Table A. In all of them, the Groups in China's and India's Coalition are not from Asia.

There are three cases for Northern American Group A1 in lines 9-11 of Talbe. Only A1-E2-M2 in line 10 has a mix of Groups from different parts of the world. A1-A2-A3 has only Groups from the American continent. A1-E1-E2 has two European Groups, Western E1 and Northern & Eastern E2. In the three cases of Western European Group E1(ll. 13-15), only E1-A3-M2 has a mix from different parts of the world. E1-A2-A3 has two American Groups and E1-E2-M2 two European.
